Kelly Wells, owner of Credit Resources Optimizing Wealth (CROW), traveled to Washington, D.C., alongside fellow credit repair business owners and industry professionals to voice concerns
about the proposed ESCRA bill and its potential impact on the credit repair industry.
Protecting Consumers Without Limiting Access
While CROW supports protecting consumers from fraudulent and unethical credit repair companies, Kelly Wells and other industry professionals are concerned that the proposed legislation could also create unnecessary barriers for legitimate, compliant businesses.
“We believe consumers deserve protection, but they also deserve access to legitimate businesses that are committed to helping them understand and improve their credit,” said Kelly Wells.
The group’s goal was to bring these concerns directly to policymakers and advocate for balanced legislation that holds bad actors accountable without restricting consumers’ access to legitimate credit assistance.
CROW’s Commitment to Advocacy
Kelly Wells’ participation reflects CROW’s commitment to consumer rights, transparency, and responsible credit repair. As discussions surrounding ESCRA continue, CROW will remain engaged in advocating for policies that protect consumers while allowing compliant businesses to serve those who need them.
Protecting consumers and preserving access to legitimate credit repair services should go hand in hand.
